Workshop Details:

The M. Hart Workshop will be a 3.5 day intensive and fully immersive experience.

The workshop location will be held 3 blocks from the beach in Santa Monica, California (20 minutes from the LAX airport).

The M. Hart Workshop will take place at my home near the beach  in my hometown of Santa Monica,CA, only 20 minutes from the LAX airport.
Attendees are responsible for arranging local hotel or shared accommodations via air bnb and details will be organized prior to arrival to ensure that everyone is comfortable and enjoys their stay!

Workshop Accomodations:



Airbnb is a great option if you want a home away from home during the workshop. Shared or private accommodations are available and attendees should search in Santa Monica, Venice, Malibu Mar Vista or Marina Del Rey. Roommates can be arranged in the private facebook group.



Luxury Resorts


If you are looking for a more luxe experience or plan on extending your stay for a vacation, a Santa Monica resort or hotel can be a great option that will still keep you close to all of the action! Some nearby favorites include Casa Del Mar, The Proper, Shutters, Loews, or the Fairmont.



Boutique Hotels


Santa Monica and Venice Beach are known for their hip, beach vibe hotels and motels. This option is for attendees who want a more relaxed environment near local food and shops. Favorites include Hotel Erwin, Palihouse, or the cozy Sea Shore motel (only a 5 minute walk to the workshop).



About Marlies Hartmann:


I am a proud mama, Magmod and SLR Lounge ambassador, former Knot ambassador and one of the "Best 100 Wedding Photographers in the World". I am an NYU Tisch School of the Arts graduate and am also a graduate of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating. I have taught for Canon several times as a Canon Live educator, have spoken for Magmod as an ambassador, have mentored several photographers in the industry, and will also be teaching next spring at the Envision Photography Retreat in central France. I am excited to be hosting the M. Hart Workshop so I can help other photographers feel more comfortable with lighting, and take their business and craft to the next level.
